Based on the new criminal charges for the rapper Diddy, a new study by The Stock Dork compared the criminal records of popular rappers to identify the ones who spent the longest time in prison. The study takes into account charges that were brought against the artists as well as time spent in prison. The information about their age, net worth, and number of Instagram followers is used as additional context. All data is collected from open sources like Reuters, Forbes, and Instagram.

The rapper who spent the most time in prison is Remy Ma, who served 6 years for assault, illegal weapon possession, and attempted coercion. She was released in 2014 and since then built a big fanbase, totaling 10.7 million followers on Instagram. Compared to other rappers in the ranking, she has a smaller net worth of $4 million.

Suge Knight takes second place in the ranking of the rappers who spent the most time behind bars, with a similar six years. Suge Knight was charged with voluntary manslaughter and still remains in prison, with a total sentence of 28 years. He is much less popular online than Remy Ma, with a little more than 203,000 Instagram followers.

Gucci Mane ranks third, serving 2 years for the possession of a firearm. This rapper and record executive has bigger popularity online than Remy Ma with 17.2 million followers on Instagram as well as a higher net worth of $14 million.

6ix9ine holds the fourth place together with XXXTentacion, both spending 13 months in prison.  These rappers are much younger than other artists in the list, not yet celebrating 30 years. 6ix9ine acquired 10 times less wealth than XXXTentacion, but both rappers are very successful online, over 20 million Instagram followers each.

T.I. follows closely with fifth place and a year spent in prison for illegal possession of a firearm. T.I. is less popular online than 6ix9ine or XXXTentacion with 14 million fans following him on Instagram. During his career T.I. built significant wealth, gaining a net worth of $10 million.

Lil Kim takes sixth place, also spending a year in prison and charged with lying to a federal judge. Her online media presence is smaller with 3.3 million followers, 4 times less than for T.I.. Lil Kim’s net worth is the same as 6ix9ine’s, totaling $500,000.

Lil Wayne ranks seventh, spending 8 months in prison for the criminal possession of a weapon. As one of the most influential hip-hop artists in the generation, Lil Wayne is the richest artist in the list with a net worth of $170 million. He also has an impressive online media presence, gathering 10 million Instagram followers.

In eighth place is Cassidy, serving the same as Lil Wayne. Originally facing trial for third-degree murder, he was charged with involuntary manslaughter and released after 8 months. His net worth now is similar to Lil Kim’s and 6ix9ine’s, totaling $500,000.

Inga Marchand closes the ranking of the rappers who spent the most time in prison, with ninth place. She served 8 months out of a 1-year sentence after she assaulted nail salon stylists. Currently, Inga doesn’t have an established social media presence but she has earned a solid wealth with $3 million in net worth.
