Crypto and Web3 are at the forefront of innovations but many believe it’s mostly just hype with little to no actual utility and/or use-cases. While former crypto exchange FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried sits behind bars for the next 25 years, NBA superstars like Shaq and Steph Curry have a lot to learn. Although Steph is the greatest three-point shooter of all time, having drained more from behind the arc than any other NBA player, he does not seem to know much about the dark side of crypto and promoting scams and frauds like those associated with the failed FTX exchange.

Shaquille O’Neal or Shaq for short was also held accountable in recent lawsuits filed by FTX victims. You see, these celebs have a lot of money and influence. But they rarely act in a responsible manner. Unfortunately, their ignorant actions tend to affect the most vulnerable members of the nascent crypto and Fintech community. What many DeFi degens do not understand is that famous people couldn’t care less about the welfare of average people. Heck, they cannot even relate to the average person because their lifestyle is full of all the luxuries you and I cannot even dream of.

Then why do we all look up to these people? Steph Curry is one of the greatest NBA basketball players of all time. But he is hardly a crypto and Web3 expert. His skills and experience have led to great success on and off the court. But nobody knows it all. There is no person on this Earth who has knowledge of everything. So stick to what you know and what you do best. Shaq is one of the best businesspeople in the world. However, he is probably a no-brainiac when it comes to highly technical stuff like crypto trading.

If you are Steph Curry or Shaq, you already have it made, of course. You know that you are set for the rest of your life. In fact, your future generations can also have the most financially secure future that most people can only dream of. Then why do you feel the need to take risky bets by promoting highly questionable ventures like FTX? These guys might not have known that FTX is an outright scam. Heck, FTX fooled the whole world!

Sam Bankman-Fried tried to pretend like he was some generous billionaire. He is one of the dumbest con artists ever now rotting behind bars (pass the soap LOL). So yea, anyways. If you are Steph Curry and Shaq, then do your thing man. Go out on those dates with your wife and girlfriends. Have a great impact on society but stay away from promoting stuff like crypto which you know almost nothing about. It would be a lot better for your brand image to stay away from crypto and NFTs for now because of the large number of scams.
